- £24520 to £35938 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience (minimum £27,578 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance
Applications are invited for the above post based at the School of Geography.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of research support to Professor Giles Foody working on an EPSRC research project focused on the extraction of meaningful information from imperfect data. The duties will include the preparation and analysis of data sets to explore the effects of various imperfections (e.g. error, uncertainty, missing observations) on analysis (e.g. classifications).
Candidates must have a degree involving quantitative data analysis and experience of analyses with latent variables and ideally have obtained (or be working towards) a PhD involving quantitative research. It would be desirable if the candidate had experience in analysing large data sets and the use of latent class analysis/log-linear models.
This post is available immediately and will be offered on a fixed term contract for a period of four months. Hours of work are full-time; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18 hours).
