Overview

About the Role

This is a paid placement working with TfL on data-science related projects. The role is intended to provide experience and training for PhD students working in data intensive science areas in Physics and Chemisty in a commercial setting – working with data science teams at TfL. The main duties will entail working together with the data science teams at TfL, gathering requirements, implementing and testing code, analysing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and documenting and communicating results and associated digital assets.

About You

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in coding in a scientific or related context to solve specific problems. They will have experience in problem solving in technical settings. The successful candidate will also be highly numerate and familiar with basic statistical analysis techniques. They will also have strong communication skills for both oral presentations and written work and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
