Metabolic Physiology Research group

The University of Nottingham seeks applications for a Research post funded by the European Union (Framework 7) and the BBSRC. This exciting project aims to investigate novel molecular mechanisms by which exercise training augments muscle mass and insulin sensitivity in human volunteers.

This post will be based in the David Greenfield, Human Physiology Unit, University of Nottingham Medical School and the candidate will work as part of a successful research team.

The post is 100% research dedicated time and appropriate research training will be given in laboratory techniques. The successful candidate is encouraged to submit the work for a higher degree, i.e. MD/PhD and efforts will be made to secure a 3rd year of funding to facilitate this.

Candidates must have an MBBS or equivalent and evidence of previous research experience. GMC registration with a licence to practise along with experience with invasive procedures is also essential.

This full-time post will be offered on a fixed term contract for a period of two years.
