Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland
The Carnegie Trust offers a number of scholarships each year to academically outstanding candidates who are intending to study on a PhD programme at any University in Scotland. The awards are tenable for three years and will not normally be made for a lesser period.
The scholarships cover tuition fees, maintenance allowance, research and travel allowance.
Applicants must be graduates of a Scottish University with a First Class Honours degree. Students in their final year of an undergraduate degree who are expected to obtain a First-Class Honours degree may apply, withdrawing if they fail to do so.
Applicants who are in receipt of a Government-funded Research Studentship, Research Council award or comparable scholarship will not be considered.
Candidates must be nominated by a member of academic staff and must submit their applications to the Carnegie Trust by 15 March.
Nomination forms which must be signed by the nominator and the applicant can be obtained from the Carnegie Trust website or by contacting the Secretary of the Carnegie Trust.
