For the Reactor Physics and Thermal-Hydraulics Laboratory we are looking for a
PhD Student
Used nuclear fuel characterization with ML components
Your tasks
- PhD project on qualification of used nuclear fuel characterization methods including surrogate modelling with ML tools
- Analysis of the quantities of interest (decay heat, nuclide concentrations, etc.) for short cooling times
- Associated verification and validation studies
- Uncertainties quantification with appropriate propagation and data assimilation methods
- Support teaching activities generally at the institution of the thesis advisor and/or perform specific maintenance tasks

Your profile
- Higher education in nuclear engineering, mathematics or data science
- Programming and scripting skills, specifically under Linux / Unix environment
- Experience in machine learning models application
- Good background in statistics
- Good knowledge of English
