Offer Description

The Christine Kühne ' Center for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE) research consortium located at the Medicine Campus Davos, Switzerland, is seeking a highly motivated graduate student (PhD) in the research group of Dr. Ganesh E. Phad to study the immune response in chronic inflammatory skin disease such as atopic dermatitis (AD).


Description

We are interested in investigating the epigenetic and transcriptional dynamics, as well as dysregulation within key immune and non-immune cells among patients at different stages of atopic dermatitis and throughout the course of immunotherapy. The candidate will apply a variety of cellular, epigenomic and single cell/spatial multiomic approaches and integrate clinical data to advance the understanding and drive new treatments of atopic dermatitis. We are seeking a candidate with strong intrinsic motivation and a proactive mindset, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team to propel the research project forward.


Requirements

Your profile

You hold an academic degree in natural sciences (MSc or equivalent) acceptable for matriculation as a PhD student at a Swiss University

You have good hands-on experience in various cell culture and molecular biology techniques. You have interest to explore new technologies and integrate into lab's workflow

You have interest and basic knowledge in immunology and epigenetics

You have bioinformatic experience, ideally epigenomics and interest in single cell multiomic data analysis

You are highly interested and self-motivated to perform research with a strong translational aspect

You have strong interpersonal skills, and you are a great team player

Fluency in English ' written and oral is expected
