| Area of responsibilities/description of the work A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Bertrand Joseph at the Department of Oncology-Pathology, to work on a project examining the role of caspase in microglia activation and dopaminergic neuron loss in Parkinson’s disease/Alzheimer’s disease. Our research team recently discovered a novel caspase-dependent signaling pathway controlling microglia activation (recently published in Nature). The project includes experiments with appropriate animal models, in vitro studies on cell lines and several other methods used in molecular biology. The position is initially for 1 year with a possible extension for 2 years, depending on the performance and progress of the project. The project is based on molecular and cell biology techniques and different animal models. Responsibilities include management of laboratory animals and to conduct studies in experimental animal model systems. |
