Doctoral (PhD) student position in psychiatry

To be a doctoral student means to devote oneself to a research project under supervision of experienced researchers and following an individual study plan. For a doctoral degree, the equivalent of four years of full-time doctoral education is required.

In our research group , you will find a unique opportunity to work closely with top researchers at the interface of psychiatry and neuroscience to jointly try to understand how the human brain processes sensory impressions. The project aims to understand the biological effects of 5-HT2A agonists in depression. The PhD student will plan and conduct a randomized clinical trial of the substance at four sites in Sweden. The PhD student will analyze clinical data from this trial and a previous trial to contribute to the understanding of the substance's clinical effect.

You meet the specific eligibility requirement for doctoral/third-cycle/PhD education if you:

- Show proficiency in English equivalent to the course English B/English 6 at Swedish upper secondary school.

(A) and (B)can only be certified by the documentation requirement for doctoral education .

We are looking for a candidate who is medically interested and holds a medical degree. Work experience as physician at psychiatric clinic, experience working with RedCap and a completed GCP training is meriting. Previous publication/acceptance of peer-reviewed publications in the field of 5-HT2A agonists, psychiatry and clinical effect is also meriting. It is advantageous if you have had a previous employment in a research group focusing on human research within depression and pathophysiology. Fluent knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing is a requirement. Great importance is placed on personal qualities.

The doctoral student will be employed on a doctoral studentship maximum 4 years full-time.
