The institute is looking for an excellent and highly motivated candidate for  PhD in the field of Normal and pathological physiology
The thesis is focused on: 

The most common cardiovascular diseases include ischemic heart disease and myocardial infarction, the pathological basis of which is ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury of the heart. Although several effective pharmacological and non-pharmacological protective interventions against I/R have been identified, the translation of knowledge into clinical practice is uncertain, also considering the possible role of comorbidities suffered by patients with cardiac I/R injury, including diabetes and obesity. On the other hand, recently described cardioprotective effects of known antidiabetic drugs give hope for a comprehensive solution for the therapy of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases in one treatment procedure. The aim of the project will be to investigate the possibilities of cardioprotection against I/R injury using new antidiabetic/antiobesity drugs, both in healthy animals with experimentally induced I/R injury and in animals with type 2 diabetes. The results of the project will contribute to expanding the possibilities of therapy for cardiometabolic diseases, and thus to better management of patients suffering from civilization diseases.
