Applications are open for 2 Research Studentship), within the framework of project EcoCerâmica e Cristal de Portugal, ECP-00076- IST, financed through PRR (Recovery and Resilience Plan)-IAPMEI
Workplan: To carry out tasks within the project EcoCerâmica e Cristal de Portugal, ECP-00076- IST. This project aims to demonstrate the technical feasibility of ceramic burning/fusion technologies with low carbon content, to provide ceramics and glassware companies with technical information and concrete decisions on energy transition options towards low-carbon fuels or electrification of the burning process. The studentship holders will (a) study experimentally the radiative emission of flames using H2 fuel mixtures and (b) study experimentally the retrofit of a “swirl” type burner to the needs of the industry using H2 fuel mixtures.
Duration: The research fellowships will have the duration of 12 months. It’s expected to begin in June 2024, and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 24 months, including the duration of the initial contract.

Benefits
Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_atualizacao-2024.pdf ), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is 990,98 €, being the payment method an option of the Fellow by Wire Transfer/Check

Selection process
Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation (40%), experience and adequacy for the tasks (40%) and if necessary, the three best ranked candidates will be called for an individual interview with the respective weight of 20%.
Composition of the selection Jury: Prof. Edgar Caetano Fernandes, Prof. Miguel Mendes and Drª Sandra Dias.
Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal . A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification
