Offer Description

It is available an application for the attribution of one (1) Research Grant (BI), for a bachelor’s degree holder, from February 26th to March 8th of 2024, under the R&D Unit UIDB/04018/2020, to be developed in the Orient Institute (IO) of the Institute for Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa).

 

Scientific Area:

International Relations or Strategy.

 

Admission requirements (cumulative):

- Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations or Political Science;

- Frequency of a Master´s degree in Strategy;

- Proven experience of editorial support for scientific journals;

- Proven knowledge of using the Joomla platform;

- Proven knowledge of the functioning of study and research associations;

- Proven experience in designing online platforms and digital content;

- Proven knowledge of at least two languages, beside Portuguese language.

 

Working plan:

- Support ongoing project development tasks at the Orient Institute;

- Support article writing and other outputs;

- Support the dissemination tasks of Orient Institute projects;

- Support the preparation of new research project applications;

- Support the design of online platforms and the creation of digital content;

- Design interactive multimedia resources and develop promotion strategies for new audiences;

- Monitor scientific dissemination with national and international researchers/institutions;

- Support the creation, preparation and indexing of scientific journals.

Workplace:

The activities will be developed in IO of ISCSP-ULisboa, under the scientific supervision of Professor Nuno Gonçalo de Carvalho Canas Mendes.

 

Grant duration:

The grant will last until December 31st 2024, expected to start on May 1st of 2024, and may be renewed under the terms foreseen in Regulation of Research Grants of FCT an University of Lisbon. The maximum duration of the contract to be established between ISCSP-ULisboa and the selected applicant is entirely linked to the duration of the project being on its basis, not exceeding its duration.

 

Monthly Maintenance Allowance:

The amount of the monthly maintenance allowance corresponds to € 990.98, according to the current table of values of grants awarded directly by FCT, I.P. (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). To the value of the monthly subsidy is added the payment of the charges resulting from the contributions that fall on the first of the steps referred to in article 36 of Decree-Law nº 40/89, of February 1st , regarding the Voluntary Social Insurance, whose adhesion is the responsibility of the fellow.

 

Selection Methods:

Applicants will be ranked on a scale from 0 to 100 values.

The selection of candidates will be based on the Curricular Evaluation (50%) and the Interview (50%).

The curricular evaluation will be weighed as follows:

Academic path (5%);

Proven experience of qualitative research within the scope of International Relations (5%);

Proven knowledge of Joomla platform (10%);

Proven knowledge of the functioning of study and research associations (20%);

Proven experience in designing online platforms and digital content (10%).

The interview will be weighed as follows:

Knowledge of the functioning of scientific research associations (15%);

Proven knowledge of at least two languages, beside Portuguese language (15%);

Adequacy of the candidate's profile (20%).

Notification Process of Results:

The final results of the evaluation will be publicized on an alphabetically ordered list, posted in a visible and public place of ISCSP-ULisboa. The approved candidate will be notified by email.

The application is available from February 26th to March 8th of 2024.

The applications must be formalized, mandatorily, accompanied by the following documents:

Application letter with the identification of the candidate and procedure to which it relates;

Documents proving that the candidate meets the admission requirements, namely a copy of the qualification certificate of the Bachelor's degree, with final average obtained;

Detailed Curriculum Vitae;

Document proving enrolment in the master’s degree in Strategy;

Declaration under oath that there is no professional or service provision activity that violates the duty of exclusive dedication;

Copy of the civil identification document and, whenever applicable, copy of the proof of residence permit or other legally equivalent document;

Motivation letter;

Documents proving the use of the Joomla platform;

Documents proving experience in designing online platforms and digital content;

Documents proving experience in editorial support for scientific journals;

Documents proving experience in operating study and research associations;

Documents proving compliance with admission requirements,;

Other supporting documents considered relevant for the application process.

 

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require registration by a Portuguese Institution, in accordance with Decree-Law n.º 66/2018, of August 16th , and Ordinance n.º 33/2019, of January 25th .
