Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Oeiras, Portugal, invites applications for a research fellowship in the field of Biotechnology available within the project “SusFishWaste- Development of a sustainable biorefinery process towards the valorisation of fish processing wastes “, Ref. PTDC/ASP-PES/28399/2017, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES in the following conditions:
Scientific Area: Biotechnology, Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry
: Cytotoxicity evaluation of natural extracts derived from fish wastes in skin cell lines; Analysis of the cosmeceutical potential of the extracts using chemical, enzymatic and cell-based assays.
Admission requirements:
- Attending a post-graduation course in the field of Biotechnology;
- Experience in animal cell culture techniques;
- Experience in bioassays related with cosmetic filed (chemical, enzymatic and cell-based assays using human skin cell lines);
- Experience cell-based assays using advanced cell models (cell spheroids);
- Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team;
- Proficient use of the English language.
