These scholarships are supported by a donation of $7,000 from the William Milverton Trust.
1.There shall be one or more scholarships to be called the William Milverton Scholarships, and shall have a value determined each year from the interest earned on the capital.
2.The scholarships shall be open to candidates domiciled in New Zealand who are enrolled full-time for an undergraduate or honours degree in agriculture (paper prefixes of 112, 117, 119, 189,283, 284 or 285) at Massey University.
3.For candidates who are enrolled for an undergraduate degree in agriculture, priority will be given to those candidates who have completed all or part of the practical work requirement for the degree.
4.Priority may be given to those candidates who have completed all or part of the practical work requirement for the degree.
5.Payment is made in May.
6.In recommending the award of the scholarships the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee shall take account of other scholarships and bursaries held with a view to achieving a reasonable distribution of monies among qualifying candidates.
7.At the discretion of the University all, or part, of the annual interest may be reinvested in order to maintain the value of the capital fund.
8.The Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee may withdraw or suspend an award at anytime if the recipient fails to make satisfactory academic progress.
9.Applications close with the Scholarships Office, Graduate Research School on 10 March in the year in which the award is to be made. Application forms (ASSC. 2 for Bachelor programmes, or ASSC.3 for postgraduate programmes) are available from Massey Contact or email: Contact@massey.ac.nz
All applications are acknowledged by email.
Applications will NOT be accepted more than 3 months in advance of the closing date.
