The Sydney Campbell Scholarships are provided under the Will of the late Mr Sydney Campbell, Riverside Farm, Masterton, and are tenable at Massey University.
1.There shall be scholarships to be known as Sydney Campbell Scholarships open to students domiciled in the Wairarapa south of Woodville, and between the coast and the Tararua/Rimutaka Ranges, and who attended secondary schools in this district. Preference will be given to students who:
(a) are taking courses in agriculture or horticulture, and
(b) show an inclination to return and live in the Wairarapa upon completing their course.
2.Scholarships up to an annual value of $1000 shall be open to students undertaking an appropriate undergraduate degree.
3.Scholarships up to an annual value of $2,000 shall be open to students proceeding to a postgraduate diploma or postgraduate degree.
4.The scholarships shall be tenable for one year, but the Trustees may extend the scholarships for additional annual periods.
5.The scholarships shall be awarded by the Trustees with assistance from the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarship Committee, who will take into account the interest of the candidates in the Wairarapa district, and their academic attainment.
6.In recommending the award of scholarships the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarship Committee shall take account of other scholarships held.
7.The scholarships will be presented at an annual Scholarship evening.
8.Applications close with the Scholarshipos Office, Graduate Research School on 10 March in the year in which the award is to be made.
