Neil Barr Farm Forestry Foundation Scholarship

NZ Farm Forestry Association (NZFFA) was formed in 1957 and is a network of tree growers practising sustainable land management in rural New Zealand. The founder was Neil Barr, a Northland farmer.


Background

The NBFFF Scholarship was established in 2023 to promote and encourage an increase in students participating in farm forestry courses at Lincoln University.


Value

Two scholarships (one for undergraduates, one for diplomas) up to a total value of $ 6000 are offered to fulltime students at Lincoln University.

Selection Criteria
  • Affinity for trees and sustainability in a farm forestry context as demonstrated by completion of the writing and reflective tasks associated with the application form, which are set by NBFFA
  • Academic merit
  • NBFFF Diploma Scholarship
    Applicants must intend to enter the Diploma in Farm Management and complete Applied Agroforestry
  • NBFFF Degree Scholarship
    Applicants must intend to complete Applied Agroforestry (FORS 270) and Agroforestry Systems (FORS 312) as part of their degree.
