(1)Eligibility:
•Students enrolled (or to be enrolled) in a research degree (Research Master or PhD) in a subject related to Korea in 2011 at a University in Australia or New Zealand.
•Korean citizens are excluded unless they have permanent residency of a foreign country.

(2)Amount
•A$20,000 per annum.

(3)Deadline of submission of application
•15 October 2011
•The outcome of the application will be announced in December 2011.

1. The Korea Foundation Fellowship for Graduate Studies Program is implemented on the basis of the following five regional groupings:
oGroup 1: North America
oGroup 2: Europe
oGroup 3: Russia
oGroup 4: Asia
oGroup 5: Australasia
Before completing your application, please refer to the Foundation's Fellowship for Graduate Studies Application Guidelines online on the Foundation’s website (http://www.kf.or.kr) for information on countries and universities to which the program support under this Fellowship is extended; program eligibility requirements; Fellowship terms; application procedures and submission; and contact information for each regional group. Applications that do not satisfy the eligibility requirements may be excluded from the screening process.

2. All application materials must be submitted in English. The completed application form must be typed or clearly printed by the applicant, while other materials must be typed.

3. Application Material

1) Application Form - Foundation form

2) Study/Research Proposal
? Summary of the proposed research, at least three pages (single-spaced), which includes the following, and separately accompanied by a one-page bibliography:

• Detailed description of proposed research interests during the fellowship period
• Research/study timetable during the fellowship period
• Your future academic plans and goals

3) Three Letters of Reference - Foundation form
? References are required from at least three individuals qualified to comment on the applicant’s ability and potential for academic study.
? At least one reference must be from someone able to attest to the applicant's Korean language ability.

4) Grade Transcript of Coursework:
? Grade Transcript of Undergraduate
? Grade Transcript of Graduate School

4. Submission of Application

Applications may be submitted to Professor Chung-Sok Suh (President of the Korean Studies Association of Australasia) by e-mail (c.suh@unsw.edu.au) on or before the deadline. Grade Transcript and Reference letters should also be submitted in PDF files via e-mail.
In addition, the original documents should be sent to the address below by post.
