Dr Eileen Fair first graduated from Massey University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree, continuing into postgraduate study completing a Massey Master of Science in 1968. Her master’s research identified the date of the formation of the Manawatū river valley. She was awarded a scholarship to study her PhD at Southern Illinois University, USA, completing in 1974. Her research focused on the relationship between limestone weathering in stalagmites and stalactites to energy and water budgets. Dr Fair returned to New Zealand and has had a highly successful career as a businesswomen based in Palmerston North.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident who is from the mid-central district (Whanganui, Manawatū, Tararua, Hawkes Bay). You will have completed your undergraduate degree at Massey University's Manawatū campus.
What you'll be studying
This is a postgraduate scholarship. You will be enrolled full time in a Master of Science with a focus on geomorphology, geology, climatology, or soil science.
