Mō te tūranga │ About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Academic to embrace this newly created role and lead projects and professional development initiatives for academic staff across the university.  Drawing on and conducting evidence-based research, you will be enhancing effective practices in blended/hybrid teaching and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) across the university.

If you thrive in an office environment, then this permanent ongoing role would suit those in Auckland or Palmerston North. However, you could be based at any of our three Campus’ nationally (Auckland, Palmerston North, or Wellington).
Mōu │About you

You will bring extensive experience leading academic professional development initiatives and an established research track record in the scholarship of teaching and learning. You will have the drive to strengthen teaching and research, meanwhile supporting the teaching of others in the higher education sector.

This will be reflected through:

  • Master’s/PhD Degree in Education or closely related field (PhD Preferred)
  • Demonstrated SoTL research experience at level of lecturer/senior lecturer as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference proceedings, and applied experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and implement academic professional development initiatives.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express complex matters in a concise and easily understandable manner across varying audiences within higher education.
  • Ability to grow and maintain strong collegial relationships with academic and professional staff and service lines to ensure alignment with university strategies, plans and services.

***  Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be undertaken on the 26th January ***
