Masters in Physical Sciences (MsC) at National University of Mexico

Application requirements:

The students interested in pursuing an MsC at the Instituto de Ciencias Físicas must have completed or be nearly completing their Bachelor degrees with a major in Physics, as well as showing proficiency in written and spoken English.

There are two mechanisms to have access to our MsC program:

• Approving with grades above 8.0 on the propedeutic exam»
• Approving the admission exam»

To earn the Msc degree:

You must approve as series of basic, introductory and advanced courses adding up to 74 credits in order to get your MsC. In addition to this you will have to finish one of the following

• Carry out a dissertation based on a research project, and present a final exam based on this dissertation.
• Alternatively, you may pass 4 of the qualifying exams ( Electrodynamics, Quntum Mechanics, Classical Mechanics and Statistical Mechanics ) and write a brief dissertation that may lead to to your PhD project. This option entitles you to access the PhD program directly.
• You can earn your MsC and be entitled to enter the Phd program by writing up and publishing a research paper in an international journal subject to peer review. 

All of our students are entitled to receive a monthly stipendium to cover their expenses during the duration of their MsC studies. In order to receive and maintain this scholarship the students must maintain a consistent performance and an average score of at least 8.0.
