The group of Prof. Günter Mayer at the LIMES Institute, Department of Chemical Biology & Medicinal Chemistry, is inviting applications for a PhD student position (m/f/d) (65%) from the earliest possible date.

Job description
Within the Optoribogenetic project our group designed various aptamer-based light switches to control RNA functions within cells [DOI: 10.1038/s41589-019-0346-y; 10.1038/s41467-020-18673-5; 10.1002/anie.202009240; 10.1002/advs.202304519]. Optoribogenetic is highly interdisciplinary and opens up novel routes for spatio-temporal control of RNA functions such as transcription/translation regulation and mRNA processing.
The DFG-funded PhD project focuses on the exploration and application of novel light-dependent photoreceptors and aptamers.
