The Institute of Psychology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is looking to fill a
PhD position in Cognitive Psychology (all genders welcome)
This is a 65% position (payment E13 TV-L, currently 25,87h/week) with a time-limited contract of 3 years. The position should be filled as soon as possible.
Across 22 projects, the CRC 1528 “Cognition of Interaction” investigates how fundamental cognitive functions and their neurobiological foundations contribute to human and nonhuman primate social behaviour and social interactions. The CRC is formed by a highly interdisciplinary consortium including systems and computational neuroscientists, data scientists, psychologists, and behavioural and cognitive biologists. See:
The project Dissociating impacts of social, emotional, and motivational relevancies on perception and cognition”, led by Prof. Dr. Anne Schacht, aims at a functional and temporal segregation of effects of the three different relevancies by developing paradigms with orthogonal variations of relevance dimensions and means of event-related brain potentials.
Your profile
Ideal candidates have a background in Cognitive Psychology. A strong motivation to conduct research, the willingness to engage in scientific exchange with other disciplines and the ability to work independently are essential.
Additional requirements:
•  A very good M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, Systems Neuroscience, or similar fields
•  Experience in conducting experimental studies with human participants
•  Advanced computational, statistical and analytical abilities (Matlab, Python)
•  Basic knowledge in the implementation of VR environments
•  Very good command of English
