PhD: Energy Harvesting of Waste Heat by Thermomagnetic Film Actuation

This research is part of an EU-Horizon Europe international project aiming at the development of miniature scale devices based on thermomagnetic (TM) films for efficient conversion of waste heat into energy. Applications include, for instance, wireless sensor networks for IoT, Industry4.0 (e.g., health monitoring of machines, industrial and civil structures) as well as novel mobile systems, robotics and medical implants. The research program includes three secondments at academic and industrial project partners. Thereby, the student will acquire additional experiences in processing of TM films and characterization techniques in a commercial setting.
