for an interdisciplinary, collaborative research project with the Department of Micro-biology at Imperial College, London (Prof. C. Tang), called “The human B cell response to factor H binding protein of Neisseria meningitidis” in the frame of the EU FP7 Marie Curie Action EIMID-ITN (European Initiative for basic research in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases). The position is immediately available and must start no later than 1st September 2012.


Description

The project aims to study the humoral immune response to factor H binding protein of Neisseria meningitides on a molecular level using state-of-the-art technology for the generation of recombinant monoclonal antibodies from single isolated human B cells. Further, the project involves the in vitro and in vivo assessment of the functional properties of candidate antibodies to factor H binding protein.
The successful candidate will work as part of an innovative, multidisciplinary and dynamic research team with state-of-the-art facilities, located within a vibrant city environment.
