Molecular Interactions of Pathogens with Biotic and Abiotic Surfaces - GRK1409 -
(funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft - DFG) offers 15 PhD positions (65% E13) and 3 MD fellowships in the Life Sciences.
The third class will start on October 1st, 2012 (5 PhD positions) resp. January 1st, 2013 (10 PhD positions). Funding will be for 36 months.
Deadline for applications is June 1st, 2012 (positions starting October 2012) resp. September 1st, 2012 (positions starting January 2013).
The Graduate School combines research interests of groups from the Departments of Medicine, Biology, and Chemistry to investigate the molecular interactions of pathogens with cellular barriers and abiotic surfaces. The three-year PhD program will provide excellent training and research opportunities in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, infectiology, microbiology, and molecular biomedicine accompanied by additional training offered by several soft skills programs. Opportunities for an internship (up to 3 months) in an international laboratory will be given.
