P21125 At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Development and Planning, Copenhagen, a position as postdoc in ”Regional development of strategies for conversion to organic agriculture and farmer-consumer partnerships" is open for appointment from 1 February 2012 or soon thereafter. The position is available for a period of 2 years.
The Department of Development and Planning conducts research and teaching on development and planning in a broad sense, including social science aspects as well as more technical aspects of development, and with a focus on environmental, international as well as administrative dimensions.
The research group ”Foodscapes, Innovation & Networks” (FINe) at Aalborg University, Copenhagen has started a regional development program for organic and sustainable food. This project is targeted the cooperation with actors in the municipality of Lejre, and it is a part of an extended cooperation between the municipalities and regions on Sealand and Aalborg University, Copenhagen. Aalborg University, Copenhagen has a strategy of being one of the leading research institutes in sustainable and culinary food production.
This position as Postdoc in regional development of strategies and methods for improving growth of organic agriculture and farmer-consumer partnerships is targeted cooperation with Lejre. The overall aim of the project is to facilitate the development of locally embedded organizations that can help overcome barriers on the market, in the distribution and in the institutional frameworks. The development of matrix farming systems will be an integrated part of this postdoc research.
The Postdoc will be part of an active and internationally recognised multidisciplinary research team at Aalborg University, Copenhagen and will be collaborating with the affiliated phd-students, postdocs and senior members on the following key tasks:
• Conducting research, teaching and supervision
• Publication of research results in peer reviewed journals
• Contributing to developing and elaborating the research agenda on local food networks
• Preparing (inter)national research proposals
The postdoc will also be connected to the new master program in ”Integrated Food Studies”, to the PhD courses and summer schools that FINe offers at Aalborg University, Copenhagen as teacher and supervisor.
Profile:
For this Postdoc project we are recruiting a full-time post-doctoral candidate with a degree in one of the social sciences, science technology studies or technical sciences with a strong interest in questions related to food and technology in society. The successful candidate will have a good track record of academic publications, will demonstrate a motivation to work in a multi-disciplinary team in an academic environment and will preferably have experiences from professional work with similar projects. They will be enthusiastic with good communication skills and with strong written and spoken English.
The postdoc position will be offered to a qualified candidate as soon as possible, preferably starting 1. February 2012

Qualification requirements:
Limited teaching within the area can be expected, but also in other study programmes at the University.
Appointment to Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University (appointment at Postdoc level cannot exceed a period of eight years in total in Denmark, however max. six years at Assistant Professor level - which includes Postdoc- at the same institution).
