PhD position theoretical studies of heating and cooling in molecular transport junctions

Project:
Nano-structured junctions with molecules bound between electrodes present interesting systems for molecular electronic and thermoelectric devices. These projects will investigate inelastic electron transport and heat transport in conducting junctions with a particular focus on strategies for controlling these processes chemically.
 
Qualifications:
It is necessary to have experience in computational chemistry or physics, particularly experience in electron transfer/transport. Good communication skills (written and oral) in English are required.
A MSc or equivalent degree
 
Position:
PhD employment will be for a period of 3 years. 
Terms of employment
The position will be filled according to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The post is covered by the Protocol on Job Structure.
The minimum starting salary is DKK 300,175 plus a pension contribution of DKK 44,460. Supplements can be added according to qualifications. 
A prerequisite for obtaining the position as a PhD scholar is that you must be enrolled as a PhD student at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Copenhagen. This is according to the rules in "Ministerial Order on the PhD Study Programme and on the PhD Degree no. 18 of 14 January 2008". Successful candidates will be requested to formally apply for enrolment as a PhD student at the PhD School of Science, University of Copenhagen
