Job description:
The PhD-fellow will join our efforts to elucidate the molecular details of lipid metabolism and signaling in the areas of metabolism, diabetes and obesity. The main aim of the PhD-project is to examine the coordinate control of autophagy and lipid homeostasis through transcriptional regulation of lysosome- and lipid biogenesis.
Place of work: The project will be carried out in the research group headed by associate professor Nils J. F�rgeman, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark.
Applicants must have completed at least four years of studies within biochemistry and cell biology. Applicants must have prior experience in lipid biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology, and be able to handle model organisms like C. elegans.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement of 1 October 2008 on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
