Job Description

Do you want to be part of a team that's pushing the boundaries of proteomics analysis? Do you want to help us shape the future of omics analysis? We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student in bioinformatics to help us start the field of isoform analysis within proteomics.
If this sounds interesting, consider joining the Isoform Analysis group in the Section for Bioinformatics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Here you will work closely with talented researchers that want to make a difference. Importantly you will be joining a collaborative group where you get a lot of support but also a lot of autonomy all within a section where you will get a diverse set of scientific inputs. Responsibilities
Your objective will be to create the bioinformatic tools that enables isoform-level analysis of proteomics data as well as apply them within proteomics.

Requirements
The following requirements must be met by the successful candidate:

  • Strong R programming skills
  • Experience with applied analysis of proteomics or transcriptomics (bulk/single-cell)

Any of the following features are highly desirable, but not strictly required:

  • Experience with developing bioinformatic tools (webserver/package)
  • Experience with machine learning
  • Strong background in molecular/cellular biology
  • Experience with analyzing large and complex datasets

You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
Approval and Enrolment 
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidate will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes at DTU. Assessment
The assessment of the applicants will be made by Assistant Professor Kristoffer Vitting-Seerup.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. 
The period of employment is 3 years. Expected starting date: 1 September 2024 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.
