DARK Student helper at the Niels Bohr Institute

Are you interested in administration, working in an international environment, and managing deadlines and ad hoc tasks? Then you might be our new student helper with a start date 1 July 2022.

About us
DARK is located in the new Niels Bohr Building. Currently, it consists of 30 research staff and science support, 13 PhD students, several MSc students and one section secretary. The team members bring in essential expertise and interact closely daily. At DARK, we focus on research, but other activities are also important: research training, teaching, and conveying the results and methods of studying the dark Universe to the public. Increasing the number of women in science, particularly astronomy, is a high priority.

Tasks
You will be working closely with the section secretary, helping with administrative tasks, such as managing mailing lists and grant deadlines, updating the DARK wiki page and our overview of grant deadlines. Furthermore, there will be general student responsibilities such as overseeing the coffee machines, ordering it-equipment, taking care of our plants, helping with organizing meetings, workshops and defences.

We expect

  • Preferably two years of experience from a former student helper job at UCPH
  • Drive for solving assignments
  • Structure own time and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills in English
  • High level of service skills

Terms of salary and employment
The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organisations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and IT-officers in the state.You will be employed as a clerical employee at an hourly salary of 129,81 dkk. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working time is 10 hours per week on average.
