Location: School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, University of Electronic Sciences and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China

Offer description:

My name is Dr. Qian Wu, a Professor at School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, UESTC, China. I am looking for a well-qualified postdoctoral research associate in the area of Fatigue analysis/modelling of Composite Structures.


My qualification is B. Eng. and M. Eng. in Gas Turbine, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Ph.D in Mechanics of Composites, National University of Singapore; Postdoctoral in Mechanics of Composites, Michigan State University, Indiana and Purdue University. I have 8 years working experience in Singapore and 15 years in US.


Essential requirements:

•A Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, or a related field.

•Publications in related field like mechanical, materials or aerospace engineering and Good English proficiency are required.

•Strong background and experience in computational solid mechanics.

•Proficiency in finite element methods, preferably using Abaqus or ANSYS

•Mechanics of composite materials especially fatigue analysis of composite materials

•Excellent programming skills (Python, Fortran, Mathematica, MATLAB, or similar).

•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

•Effective communication and collaboration skills. 

•Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

•Knowledge and experience in fracture and damage behaviour of composites materials.


Financial support:  

- Competitive salary range dependent on the candidate's experience.

- Every Postdoc student receives a fellowship, atleast a total equivalent of 180,000 yuan a year, The University also provides subsidized hostel, which is sufficient to cover all expenses to study and live in Chengdu, China.
