The Institute of Technology Assessment (ITA ) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW ) - Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution - has a double mission: Its team carries out interdisciplinary research on the impacts of new technologies on society, the environment, and the economy, i.e. technology assessment (TA). The results of our work support policy-makers, the administration, and the public concerning technology policy issues. The Institute is offering a

 

PhD Student Position (f/m/x)

(full-time, 40 hours per week)

 

 


 


for a duration of 12 months, with the option to get prolonged.

 

 

Your tasks:

•        Collaboration in technology assessment projects in the field of artificial intelligence

•        Active participation in the institute’s inter- and transdisciplinary discourse

 

Your profile:

•        Completed university studies (Master), preferably in a social-science domain

•        Ideally, experience in the field of technology assessment or inter- and transdisciplinary research

•        Experience in qualitative research methods and organisation of workshops

•        Knowledge in the field of digitalization and society incl. artificial intelligence

•        First academic publications

•        Excellent German and English skills needed

•        Soft skills: capacity for teamwork, communicative character

We offer an annual gross salary of € 50.364,44, according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
