*Closed for 2012* In co-operation with the universities in Duisburg-Essen, Cologne, Freiburg, Leipzig and the IIK Duesseldorf, the DAAD offers scholarships to participate in a Deutschlandkundlicher Winterkurs. This program is designed for Southern hemisphere students and young academics with a sound knowledge of German (level B2) and some background in German studies who are interested in improving their language skills and understanding of contemporary affairs. Courses last 6 weeks and are offered in the German winter months.

This scholarship is offered annually to 2 people. Open for applications until August 15, 2012.
