Tasmanian Government Scholarship in Agricultural Innovation
A number of scholarships are provided by the Tasmanian Government for fee assistance towards selected Agricultural Innovation units studied in the Master of Business Administration (Professional) in Agricultural Innovation. This degree is a joint State Government and UTAS initiative involving the Faculty of Business and TIA’s School of Agricultural Science. The Master of Business Administration (Professional) in Agricultural Innovation provides knowledge and skills in both management and agribusiness. The program provides postgraduate training with a focus on developing agribusiness and innovation skills and is in response to the Tasmanian Government’s vision of the State as a premium food producer.
Eligibility
Available to a resident of Tasmania who is enrolled, or intends to enrol, in the MBA (Professional) in Agricultural Innovation program offered face-to-face or by distance education at UTAS. Applicants who do not have a Bachelor’s degree may apply for the Graduate Certificate in Management, and have the scholarship applied to this course and subsequently transferred to the MBA (Professional) in Agricultural Innovation upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Management. Applicants will be assessed on their participation in and employment history in the agricultural and related sectors in Tasmania, with particular emphasis on employment and participation in sectors which are significant in the Tasmanian Government’s vision as a premium food producer. Applicants already in food manufacturing and seeking to develop skills in globally competitive processes focusing on lean management principles will be given preference.
Amount
Fee discount for the Agricultural Innovation Specialisation units listed in Schedule J in the MBA (Professional) - up to $5,000 worth of fees for eligible units.
Duration
The scholarship will apply for the duration of studies in the eligible course (usually six semesters of part-time study), providing the eligible units remain to be studied and the maximum value of the scholarship has not been reached.
Closing Date
