Ronald J Lienert Memorial Scholarship for Honours Students

This scholarship has been established by the SA Pork Industry to perpetuate the memory of Ronald John Lienert OAM.  Ronald J Lienert is remembered in the Pig Industry through his contributions to the management of state and national Industry agro-political issues; his membership of Industry boards, committees and working parties; the establishment and operation of Lienert Australian Pty Ltd within agribusiness and his impact on the genetic improvement of the Australian pig herd.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:

  • Have completed your previous years of study (i.e. Bachelors degree) at the University of Adelaide before commencing Honours
  • Be undertaking Honours at the University of Adelaide Roseworthy Campus, with the research component focused on an aspect of pig production in 2024 
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
  • Be enrolled on a full time basis in a Commonwealth Supported Place
  • Not be currently contracted to work in or employed in the pig industry

Selection of the successful candidate will be made according to:

  • Academic merit (GPA)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and/or community involvement
  • Demonstrated interest and/or past experience in the Pork Industry or in Animal Agriculture
  • Pork industry project and Supervisor already identified and agreed to prior to Scholarship application;
  • Relevance and value of proposed research project to SA pork industry
  • Answers to questions on the application form

  • You must meet all of the above listed criteria to be eligible to apply
  • The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered
  • Students receiving other University of Adelaide Scholarships may apply for this Scholarship
