RMIT Indigenous Accommodation Scholarship

This scholarship is provided for the duration of your program, at:

• $6,000 per year ($3,000 per semester) if you are full-time enrolled and demonstrate financial disadvantage in your scholarship application; or
  
• $3,000 per year ($1,500 per semester) if you are part-time enrolled and demonstrate financial disadvantage in your scholarship application; or
  
• $3,000 per year ($1,500 per semester) if you are full-time enrolled and do not demonstrate financial disadvantage in your scholarship application; or
  
• $1,500 per year ($750 per semester) if you are part-time enrolled and do not demonstrate financial disadvantage in your scholarship application.

This scholarship provides funds to assist in financing rental/shared accommodation in Melbourne.

This scholarship is provided for the duration of your program, at:

This scholarship provides funds to assist in financing rental/shared accommodation in Melbourne.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

• be an Australian citizen
• identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
• register with RMIT’s Ngarara Willim Centre  and provide documentation confirming that you are an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander by the scholarship application due date
• be from an interstate or rural/regional area and moving/moved to Melbourne to study at RMIT in semester 1 2024 for the first time
• be able to demonstrate circumstance/s which impact your ability to study such as:
  • receiving a government tested low income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card
  • having a long-term medical condition or disability
  • experiencing personal/family/social difficulties
  • have previously/are currently living in foster/kinship care or are a ward of the state
  • be from an under-represented background such as completed secondary school at a School Network Access Program  school
• be commencing study in semester 1 2024 in a certificate IV, diploma, degree or postgraduate by coursework program at RMIT
• have not previously commenced or completed a program at the same level of study or higher

In addition to the above:

• to be considered for the full value of the scholarship per annum, you must demonstrate financial disadvantage in your scholarship application such as showing documentation that you receive a government tested low income benefit or have a Centrelink Health Care Card
• you must not be enrolling in an apprenticeship or traineeship program

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
