The Master of Counselling program provides graduate students with an in-depth knowledge base and practice skills in professional counselling, and is a shared program between the School of Social Work and Human Services and the School of Psychology. The School of Social Work and Human Services offers a comprehensive range of educational programs from undergraduate to PhD level and has an extensive research program. The School of Psychology is one of the strongest schools of psychology in Australia and its reputation is built on excellence in both research and teaching.

The role

The successful applicant will be responsible for administrative duties relevant to the role of Program Director and will undertake postgraduate teaching in the Masters of Counselling program. The successful appointee will also be expected to pursue a strong and productive program of research and to supervise postgraduate research and honours students. The appointee will be expected to undertake administration, service and leadership activities.

The person

Applicants should possess PhD in the field of Counselling or related field. He or she should have a demonstrated capacity to develop, coordinate and deliver high quality postgraduate courses and a demonstrated capacity to pursue a strong and productive program of research in counselling.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at Academic Level B or C (depending on experience and qualifications).

The remuneration package of Academic Level B will be in the range of $79,861 - $94,835 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $93,438 - $110,957p.a.).

The remuneration package of Academic Level C will be in the range of $97,830 - $112,803 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range of $114,461 - $131,980 p.a.).
