Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Fellow A303-11
The Australian National University - The John Curtin School of Medical Research
The John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australia’s national medical research institute, is part of The Australian National University. A unique opportunity is available for an enthusiastic early to mid career researcher to join the School in a newly established RNA Biology Laboratory headed by Professor Thomas Preiss within the Department of Genome Biology.
The successful candidate will undertake research aimed at exploring the hypothesis that wider networks of interaction between RNA, enzymes, and metabolites (REM networks) exist in eukaryotic cells and function as a hidden layer of posttranscriptional regulation linking intermediary metabolism and gene expression
The REM project is carried out collaboratively between the laboratories of Professor Thomas Preiss and Professor Matthias W Hentze at the European Molecular Biology Laboratories in Heidelberg, Germany. The position thus offers the opportunity to participate in an international research effort involving premier Australian and European life science research institutions.
If you have strong skills in the biochemistry and molecular biology of RNA and familiarity with the study of gene expression in cultured mammalian cells, we would welcome an application from you. Prior experience with analyses of RNA-protein complexes by next generation sequencing or mass spectrometry would be advantageous.
We offer generous remuneration benefits, including four weeks paid vacation per year, assistance with relocation expenses and 17% employer contribution to superannuation.
To apply for this position, please go to http://info.anu.edu.au/hr/Jobs/Current_Vacancies and follow the links.
Applications must address the selection criteria.
Candidates are advised to obtain copies of the relevant documentation and frame their applications accordingly.
Consistent with our values of integrity and respect, ANU welcomes diversity in its staff, welcoming applications from women and applicants from diverse backgrounds.
