This project aims to conduct prototype test of the direct carbon fuel cells (DCFC) and optimize the design and structure of DCFC, thus laying a solid foundation for the further commercialization of this novel technology. Direct carbon fuel cells are expected to have high conversion efficiency (80-85%) for power generation, and near-pure CO2 emissions directly suitable for sequestration without further clean up.
A Research Fellow is required for a three-year appointment to work on the design and operation of this scaled up DCFC, and to identify the key issues for the prototype test.
The successful candidate should have a PhD degree in the field of high temperature full cells and also have sound knowledge in equipment design and scale up. He/she will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, including a multi-disciplinary team, including chemical engineers, physical chemistry, electrical engineering and industrial managers.
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A or B. The remuneration package will be in the range $70,676.68 to $75, 867.60 (Level A) or $79, 861.17 to $94, 8383.88 (Level B) p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%.
