PhD in polymer science at AIBN
This scholarship will be within Prof Michael Monteiro's research group and will focus on the synthesis of polymers by Living Radical Polymerization. The polymers will then be used to form nanoreactors for organic and polymer reactions in water, or for the functionalization of surfaces for various applications. The successful candidate will study towards a PhD in polymer science with the key aims of synthesis and characterization of polymeric nanoreactors suitable to perform catalyzed organic reactions in water.

This scholarship is offered once only to one person. Open for applications from September 22, 2011 until November 30, 2011.
The value of this scholarship is AUD22860 (minimum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, CHEMICAL SCIENCES, PHYSICAL SCIENCES or SCIENCE - GENERAL.
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent, Honours 2a or equivalent, or Masters or equivalent.
