MQ Philosophy: On the cutting edge: promoting best practice in surgical innovation
Scholarship Description

The Macquarie University Research Centre in Agency, Values and Ethics (CAVE) is offering a full time PhD scholarship in association with ARC Linkage Project 110200217. The aims of the project are: 1.to develop a taxonomy of innovative surgery; 2.to analyse conceptual and theoretical features of innovative surgery that generate ethical, legal and regulatory challenges; 3.to provide tools for identifying, implementing and managing surgical innovation. The applicant will be supported to develop their own project and supervision is available in either philosophy/bioethics or law. Experience in law or bioethics will be an advantage. Payment Information

The value of this scholarship is AUD23728 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Cultural studies, History and philosophy of science and medicine, Other studies in human society or Philosophy.


Eligibility

This scholarship is for study in Australia. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or AUS permanent resident can apply.
