MQ Economics - Cultural production & regional economies in Eastern Arnhem Land & the Western Desert
A Macquarie University PhD scholarship (MQRES) associated with ARC Discovery Project DP120101387 is available in the Dept Economics in collaboration with ANU. The project is a comparative study of the economic and cultural potential of Aboriginal knowledge and art in Northern Australia, focussing on art and craft and Aboriginal cultural tourism as components of regional economic futures. It involves field work in Aboriginal communities. It aims to develop new methodologies for modelling these processes into strategies for tourism, art market development and sustainable regional growth.
