By applying for the UNSW Indigenous Scholarships Program you may be considered for the following scholarships. More scholarships may be added to this list progressively.


Undergraduate Commencing Scholarships

Scholarship Value and Duration Eligibility
Ausgrid Indigenous Engineering Scholarship (UGCE1495)

$15,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program (Up to 5 years)

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

  • Be commencing in full-time elgible UNSW undergraduate study program (single or double) in either Bachelor of Engineering, specialising in Electrical Engineering or Environmental Engneering.
Maple-Brown Family Foundation Scholarship for Indigenous Students (UGCE1151)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program.

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate study (single or double) in the UNSW Business School.

  • Have completed the NSW HSC (or interstate equivalent) or IB in the previous two years prior to commencing at UNSW, provided no tertiary study was undertaken during this period.
School of Mathematics and Statistics Indigenous Scholarship (UGCE1268)

$5,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

  • Be commencing full-time undergraduate studies in a Bachelor of Advanced Science or Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics), including double degrees with a declared major in the School of Mathematics & Statistics.

  • Current undergraduates would also be considered in their 1st year of study at UNSW and majoring in Mathematics or Statistics.

Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
  • Academic Merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Outline your aptitude and commitment towards your proposed area of study

Unanswered application questions or claims without supporting documentation will not be assessed. Late applications/supporting documentation will not be accepted.

The following scholarship will be automatically awarded. Please refer to the information below regarding the eligibilty and selection criteria.

Scholarship Value and Duration Eligibility & Selection
UNSW Indigenous Undergraduate Business Scholarship (UGCE1328)

$10,000 per annum for the minimum duration of program.

Eligibility:
  • Indigenous Australian (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander only).
  • Must have completed the UNSW indigenous Pre-Program in Business, prior to commencing study at UNSW; and
  • Received a full offer to an eligible undergraduate degree program offered by UNSW Business School.
Selection:

  • Scholarships will be automatically awarded to students who have successfully completed the UNSW Indigenous Pre-Program in Business and are commencing an eligible undergraduate degree offered by UNSW Business School.

UNSW reserves the right not to award a scholarship, where there is no applicant of sufficient merit, or if the applicant does not meet the scholarship eligibility and/or selection criteria.
