Indigenous Access Scholarships (Ias)
The Federal Government aims to improve higher education access for Indigenous people - particularly those who need to relocate from regional and remote areas - through a one-off payment to take up a higher education undergraduate course in an area of National Priority.
Students eligible for an Indigenous Access Scholarship may also receive an Indigenous CECS Scholarship and if eligible, an Indigenous CAS Scholarship - subject to funding.
Any Undergraduate degree program.
Eligibility / Selection Criteria
To be eligible for an IAS a student must:
• Be an Indigenous Australian or Torres Strait Islander
• Demonstrate low socio-economic status or financial disadvantage
• Be enrolled in full time undergraduate study at Swinburne in 2014.
Value in 2014 is $4,702 as a one off payment plus (Indigenous CECS - $1,246 per semester and if eligible, Indigenous CAS - $2,492.50 per semester, for up to 8 payment cycles - subject to funding). Scholarships value is indexed each year by the government.
