Indigenous Access Scholarships (IAS)

The Federal Government aims to improve higher education access for Indigenous people - particularly those who need to relocate from regional and remote areas - through a one-off payment to take up a higher education undergraduate course in an area of National Priority.

Students eligible for an Indigenous Access Scholarship may also receive an Indigenous CECS Scholarship and if eligible, an Indigenous CAS Scholarship - subject to funding.

Eligibility / Selection Criteria

To be eligible for an IAS a student must:

• Be an Indigenous Australian or Torres Strait Islander
• Demonstrate low socio-economic status or financial disadvantage
• Be enrolled in full time undergraduate study in an area of National Priority at Swinburne in 2013.

Value
One off payment of $4,659 plus (Indigenous CECS - $1,234.50 per semester and if eligible, Indigenous CAS - $2,469.50 per semester, for up to 8 payment cycles - subject to funding).
