A Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) is available in the Department of Environment & Geography associated with successful Project funding by the Australian National Low Emission Coal R&D (ANLECR&D). Carbon dioxide capture and sequestration and storage (CCS) has been proposed as a mechanism to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the industrial use of fossil fuels to produce electricity and other services. In this project the environmental risk inputs, closely aligned with economic and social considerations, necessary for the holistic development of best practice approaches to project planning, assessment, and approval for CCS projects will be developed. The value of this scholarship is AUD22860 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses and fees. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.
