Scholarship Description
A PhD scholarship is offered in the field of Workplace Health promotion in a mining/steel manufacturing setting. Workplace behavioural strategies are part of Diabetes Australia's national policy recommendations to reduce type 2 diabetes. Intervention Whyalla (iWhyalla) is a health promotion program for diabetes primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in mining & steelworks sites near Whyalla. The project aims to examine the effectiveness of ecologically planned & implmented behavioural & environmental strategies for improving diabetes risk trajectories & workforce health, safety & productivity indicators. Topics could include: case study in organisational change; trajectories of health beliefs in relation to clincal risk; shiftwork, sleep & cardiometabolic risk.

Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (minimum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses and miscellaneous purposes. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.
