Computational Studies of Ionic Liquids Research Scholarship
Scholarship Description
The Queensland Micro- and Nanotechnology is a science and engineering research centre investigating micro- and nanotechnology problems that are integral to the development of clean and intelligent systems. It is a multi-disciplinary group with researchers from chemistry, physics, mathematics and engineering, carrying out theoretical, computational and experimental research. This project is part of an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant led by Prof. Debra Bernhardt focussing on computational studies of ionic liquids. The student will gain expertise in ab initio quantum calculations, molecular dynamics simulations and programming, as well as use state of the art statistical mechanical relationships in their calculations Applicants should possess a 1st Class Honours Degree in Chemistry or Physics, or equivalent, and satisfy the requirements for enrolment as a PhD student at Griffith University. A keen interest in theoretical and computational chemistry is required
