To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, permanent humanitarian visa holder or an international student in Australia
- be enrolling full-time in semester 1 and 2 2024, in either:
- Graduate Diploma in Journalism (GD074)
- Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) (BP220) and having completed a minimum of 96 credit points by the end of 2023
- have at least six months of full-time study left to complete
- be able to demonstrate financial hardship such as (but not limited to):
- receiving a government tested low income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card
- be able to demonstrate accommodation expenses that this scholarship will be used for (see supporting documentation for information on types of evidence)
- be able to demonstrate that you are the author of at least one published journalistic work. A work of journalism must have been paid and may include paid freelance work. The work does not include work published only on student publications or self-published blogs with fewer than 1000 unique readers
Successful recipients must use the funds to pay for accommodation expenses.
