Caterpillar North-West Scholarship in Engineering, University of Tasmania (UTAS)

This scholarship is provided by Caterpillar, which manufactures underground mining equipment at its plants in Burnie. Caterpillar in Tasmania is part of a highly successful worldwide operation which manufactures construction and mining equipment, turbines and power generating plants.

Available to a resident of the north-west of Tasmania who is commencing study in the Bachelor of Engineering at UTAS, or in a combined degree with engineering, and who is interested in considering the mechanical or electrical engineering stream. Vacation employment opportunities may be available to the recipient at the Caterpillar plant over the summer. This scholarship will support the recipient through the first two years of the course. Other scholarships, including from Caterpillar, are available for third and fourth year.

To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
