CSIRO Vacation Scholarships - Information Engineering Lab

*next round 2013* The 2012 Vacation Scholarship Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to work on real-world problems in a leading R&D organisation. Many participants have gone on to pursue a PhD in CSIRO or to build a successful research career within CSIRO, a university or industry. The scholarships are open to students who have completed (by November) at least three years of undergraduate study and who have maintained a credit average or higher. Scholarships are to commence on the 26th of November 2012 and continue for a period of 12 weeks. Each student will undertake a research project under the supervision of a research scientist or engineer. At the end of the program you will join students from across Australia at a two day conference in Sydney. Projects will be offered in the research areas of human computer interaction, machine learning, semantic data management and service computing, including trust, security and privacy.

This scholarship is offered to an unspecified number of people. Open for applications until September 2, 2012.

The value of this scholarship is AUD8479 (total amount). This award is to be used for living expenses. This scholarship is paid fortnightly.

This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY or INFORMATION, COMPUTING AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES.

Only citizens of Australia or AUS permanent resident can apply.
